The Service of Prosthetic Surgery, is located on the 3rd floor of our bluilding.
Phosthetic and arthroscopic surgery of the hand and foot are performed in this department.
Orthopedics have two operation rooms equipped with the latest equpment and supported by experienced nurses.
Arthroscopic Surgery
Arthoroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique that allows to explore the joint cavity with a millimeter camera and the aid of instrumentation that allows for sophisticated surgical gestures once only possible with very cruel methods.
In this way, as well as reduce operation time is often possible to reduce the rehabilitation time and complications.
With these methods many of the most common traumatic and degenerative diseases can be solved.
The disease in the knee ligament and meniscal are increasing, as common as cartilage injuries in the shoulder and rotator cuff tears of the capsule, as in dislocations, but also post-traumatic degenerative disorders of the wrist and ankle.
Surgery of the hand and Wrist
Among the diseases most often the carpal tunnel syndrome, the "trigger finger" syndrome, De Quervain, which can be addressed through small scars often work with little-invasive, quick recovery and also shelters a few hours.
Other diseases are more demanding, as the rizoartrosi and Dupuytren's disease, and other less frequent but often extremely debilitating because the most difficult to treat if not by experienced surgeons, such as injuries and radiocarpici intercarpal ligaments, the outcomes of fractures, stiffness, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Some of these also resolved several years ago with arthroscopy.
